American Elderberry Cuttings (2 varieties) Sambucus canadensis

from $12.00
sold out
We're stoked to be able to offer limited quantities of American Elderberry Cuttings from two great varieties that are grown commercially, Nova and Bob Gordon. You will receive 5 cuttings, approximately 6 inches long that will be ready to plant.

Nova: produces heavy yields of some of the largest berries you can get. Small flower clusters. Extremely vigorous grower typically puts on more that 8ft of growth a season.

Bob Gordon: Produces large flower clusters (as much as 3 times the size of Nova) and small berries. Great for to grow for the elderberry flowers. Vigorous, but not on the same level as Nova.

*A note about the small/wonky cuttings option: these are just as likely to be successful as the larger, straight cuttings but will likely be much skinnier and have some curves to them.

Contrary to the common belief that you need 2 nodes on each cutting, cuttings with a single node have the potential to be just as successful and avoids wasting plant material between internodes. Some cuttings may have 2 nodes and some may not. Check out the Wild Sprout Nursery Youtube channel to learn more about propagating elderberry from cuttings.

We strive to provide quality plant material that is intended to planted as soon as possible after receiving to maximize successful plant establishment. It is assumed that the purchaser of our plant material has a familiarity with the process involved in establishing bare-root plants or working with cuttings of plant material. If you have questions please feel free to reach out!
