Perennial Bronze Fennel
You will receive one nice starter size dormant, bare-root plant (No leaves, just a root) when you order from us. If planted in good soil you can expect the start to size up quite nicely in the first season.
We love Bronze Fennel here at Wild Sprout Nursery! It adds such an ornamental look to our pathway borders and tree islands. To be clear, this is a perennial, non-bulbing type fennel. It’s a great plant to have around for pollinators. The immature seeds are good to use as a digestive aid after meals and of course, the leaves can be used for all of your fennel-flavoring needs.
In our experience in temperate NW Washington State this plant has been super hardy and drought tolerant once established. It doesn’t seem to have any problem propagating from seed, so seasonal flower dead-heading will be needed to keep it from spreading all over the place. For the plant propagator this is great though!
